Hmmm... think I might have spotted an issue in the new version with "Rename" enabled for WinRAR.

CMP asks if I want rename, then it appears to attempt to, but the RAR is not actually changed. There's no warning message or anything, it simply does not rename.

I'm using: rn -y -r -rr1 -ma5 -m5 -t -htc -ibck -qo+ %1 %2 %3

Awesome... Danke

I blame Win10... I'm blaming it for all my woes at the moment. LOL

Bump... since you seem to be in a coding mood the last few days.   :D

So many jokes about "dumping" this "toilet" game.... but I am an adult.

Saying that though, would love to play on Sega's latest 'hardware'. LOL

Quick suggestion, when adding DATs from a folder (in this case MAME hash files) where they already exist, add a 'Yes to All' option.

At the moment it asks if you want to replace existing, yes or no. And you have to click yes 300 odd times.

Ah, OK I see.

No, we have not broken out the flags into separate XML elements YET.   ;)

Sample from N64 Games DAT:

Air Boarder 64 (1998)(Human)(JP)(en-ja)

JP = released in Japan
en-ja = game includes English and Japanese languages

The TOSEC naming convention can be found here: http://www.tosecdev.org/tosec-naming-convention

TOSEC DATs contain both region and language flags:

Sorry to be a pain... how would I include MD5 too? It is already included in source DAT(s).

clrmame Discussion / DAT (depreciated) -> XML
« on: 16 January 2015, 11:58 »
Hey guys... this isn't necessarily a specific CMP question, but does anyone know a way that I can (bulk) convert a bunch of DATs in legacy format to the new n' shiny XML format?

I don't see anything under Dat2Dir, and I had it in my head that Logiqx's DatUtil could do this but I think I am mistaken.

Any pointers much appreciated...

misc:    some intern changes so that you got theoretically 32k path length support (Hello Tosec..)
If you need such long paths, you need to add "\\?\" in front of your rom/sample/add/rebuilder
         source/destination/etc paths..
         So for example:
\\?\E:\temp\this is a long folder name right or wrong blabalbalblablablablabalabl\

Hello Roman...   ;)

Thanks again for this, most appreciated.

Oops, sorry forgot to respond...

No problem, I understand. Realise I am very much in the minority (using RAR) too.

Meh... save the docs for when you write your new and shiny set-based CMP.   ;)

Reminder to myself: Add a batcher option to force not compressed sets.

Seconded...  :D

Like chdman version check, can you implement the same for RAR version? Check for latest v5.0.

RE 2, I can have another play in >5 hours and see if anything similar happens?

(waiting on something to finish using these files)

do NOT use any build which got the subfolder/hashcollision stuff enabled...

I read above, but I'm not using any DATs with any kind off parent/clone relationship. I had to use this new WIP build to achieve what I was after doing...   ;)

Do you have any (small) repeatable scenario for your remarks?

Scenario 1, not really unless you have a go with 100k commodore images. I'm happy to provide everything you need if you want though.
Scenario 2, like I said was very stupid by emptying temp folder. Realized 0.5 sec later that should have kept a note of the handful of files, but wasn't thinking at the time.   :-[
