More realistic versus my previous tests ;)

Anyway it's improvement comparing to version 005.

This time for version 254 and archives in zips so test differs from previous but I think most people will rebuild from zip files so it's more realistic scenario.

Worth to mention that some zip archives have different crcs (for example 1941.zip) but size and files inside are exactly the same. Most of zips are exactly the same. I assume that clrmamepro adds some files into zips with different order.

Rebuilded from the same source. Started at 7:15 ended about 12:35 so more than 5 hours was needed for entire process :)

Whole process started exactly 16:00:00. 7:58 took scan rebuild process was ended exactly at 20:16:10.

Now let's see how it will take with use of clrmame.

It's intentional - I'm not sure if source zip file is checked against any errors so I need everything rezipped. Anyway 46 % done and about 2 hours and 40 mins passed.

Rebuilder reported 170398 unique roms. 23% and about 2 hours pass. I'm using rezip method but this probably does not matter since all roms are extracted from zip archives.

CHDs are removed for now ;)

Target directory is on clean/formatted partition.

I disabled SHA1 for tests. rebuilder is put on M.2 disk as well togehter with mame.XML file. About 8 mins took scan of whole roms folder. About 26 mins. took 10% of rebuilding.

Thanks for new version. I'm in process of rebuilding whole MAME 253 set without CHDs from fully extracted archives into separated directories.

Extracted files are placed on M.2 disk, destination will be Seagate SV35 3TB disk (not too fast but at the moment I don'r have extra SSD for destination). Let see how long it will take on Core i5 10600KF and 16 GB RAM versus standard clrmamepro :)

I've re-downloaded entire package and put latest beta cmpro20190202 replacing old files. Everything seems to ok now. I'm sorry it's probably my fault.

Files are:

segadimm\203_203.bin
segadimm\213_203.bin
segadimm\217_203.bin
segadimm\317_312.bin
segadimm\401_203.bin
segadimm\fpr23718.ic36

seganetw\ver1305.bin

segasp\fpr-24208a.ic72
segasp\fpr-24407.ic72

Second rebuild removes all these files from source folder:

Analyzed 9
Created 0
Matched 108
Skipped 9

clrmame Discussion / Leftovers after full rebuild
« on: 31 December 2018, 20:06 »
Today I've rebuild whole mame set again from uncompressed directories into zip archives. Again I also noticed that some SEGA firmware files are not removed from rebuild directory. Before rebuild I've scanned source folder and everything was fine so why segadimm, seganetw and segasp directories are not removed after rebuild?

I did similiar tests with 7z and 7zGUI and progression as well final file size are the same so looks like I set 7z correctly in clrmamepro. I'm using now 7z only for Redump sets and size of archives is really smaller when I compare the same archive with rar or zip. Only rar sometimes can be better but only when I have plenty audio tracks in archive.

BTW. In Poland 50 EUR is not a small ammount of money ;)

I'm to set 7zip with either 7z.exe or 7zG.exe with parameters:

Packer_7z_Add = a -y -r -ms=off -mx9 -mmt=4 -m0=LZMA2 -mfb=256 -md=384m %1 %2
Packer_7z_Del = d -y -ms=off -mx9 -mmt=4 -m0=LZMA2 -mfb=256 -md=384m %1 %2

I tried both exes and in both cases my processor is not utilized in 100% in fact it's not even in 50 % sometimes. Are these parameters good for LZMA2 compression with dictionary 384Mb ? I have 16 Gb memory.
