using the renamer wizard
« on: 01 November 2009, 07:02 »

I am having difficulties completely understanding what to do.

I want to update the amyfever .dat file from 129u3 to 135. Do I need to put the amyfever dat file as the old and then make a .dat file from the 135 mame? (specifying mame.exe didn't work so I assume I need to manually make the xml output?) and then do I put the modify datfile as the original amyfever .dat file?

OR do I use an .xml/.dat out put of a 129u3 mame as old, .xml/.dat from 135 as new and then amyfever as modify?

I tried myself but have only succeeded in a headache  :'(

BTW, amyfever .dat file is located : http://www.mamechannel.it/pages/flyers.php under "AmyFever's Flyers".

Thanks

You must work it this way:

you need MAME dats for 0.129u3 and 0.135
You set MAME 0.129u3 as OLD DAT
you set MAME 0.135 as NEW DAT
you diff the two sets
You load the flyer dat as rename dat on the lower part of the page
you click on the "apply renames" or whatever (going by memory... :P )
You obtain a NEW flyer dat where the differences found between MAME dats 0.129u3 and 0.135 are applied

Tha's all folks ;)

yep...s_bastian is correct...load old dat, load new dat, hit DIFF, select your dat as modify dat and hit apply renames....it will create a new dat file with the renames applied
