Skip confirmation only for certain fix options?
« on: 26 April 2009, 05:40 »

Unless I'm missing something, it seems like the confirmation prompts issued by ClrMame when fixing a set are either all on or all off. I'd love to be able to specifically assume a "yes to all" for just certain fix operations. For example, I currently have the following settings for the checks:

Missing - Check and fix
Case - Check only
Unneeded - Check and fix
Name - Check and fix
Size - Check
Date - Check
Checksums - Check

I'd like to assume a "yes to all" for "Missing" and "Name" checks, but not for "Unneeded" checks (I don't always want ClrMame to assume I want to delete files). I know the deleted files are put in the backups dir, but sometimes that can add extra confusion. For example, a faulty CHD might exist, but ClrMame "deletes" it because it is unknown, yet you won't realize this unless it is setup to prompt you or you check the backups folder. It looks like the "Ask Before Fixing" option applies to all fix methods.

Is this possible to do this? Thanks.

Each type of fix got its own confirmation. When a 'wrong name' prompt appears and you click "yes to all" this will only set 'yes' to all 'wrong name' messages. As soon as a different message appears (e.g. 'unneeded file'), a prompt for this is shown.

So you are asked for each group separately. The 'ask before fixing' option however is a general one which enables/disables the prompting.

I guess that confirms my observations. I knew that each fix option prompted separately from each other, but ultimately what I'd like to do is say "yes to all" for certain options (e.g. name and missing) and have it permanently remember that for the future. That way, the next time I run a scan for an update, it will automatically assume "yes to all" for those options, but not for other fix options, like "unneeded". Thanks.
