Building a complete MAME set
« on: 25 October 2022, 22:01 »

Hi, I've been trying to put together a complete MAME set (full, non-merged) so I can pull from it later, and I have some questions:

1) Which DAT file should I use? MAME's listxml? ProgettoSnap.net's DATs? PleasureDome's DATs?

2) Should I use separate DATs for ROMs and CHDs?

3) How can I figure out which chdman's req. CHD option I should chooose for each set? Is there a reference somewhere?

1) You should always prefer the direct import from an official mame binary (Profiler->Create)
2) no
3) keep "5" since this is the latest since years
