Android App?
« on: 05 October 2019, 10:07 »

Can you please make this tool for Android? Storages are getting bigger, more and more systems can be emulated and it would be great to scan entire rom sets without the need of a computer

I don't see any use case having a rom manger tool on a mobile device. Besides of this, MAME isn't officially aiming for android mobile devices either.

Eh there are 1tb devices and 1tb SD cards plus with usb on the go you can connect an external hard drive to your phone...

There are many mame cores for the Android Retroarch including the latest mame version and two older standalone mame emulators.

But ok I guess... too bad I can't code or I would make a clrmamepro port or an alternative myself.

I'm pretty aware of what an android system can do and what it can't do.

Retroarch ain't MAME. The core used in Retroarch is ancient and if you follow the official MAME forums it's way of being anyhow supported by the devs....besides of the ***** relationship which the devs share with the retroarch ones.

Feel free to learn a programming language or find an alternative. clrmamepro's target isn't and won't be Android.

Ok I guess I will have to transfer my 3ds roms to my computer for a scan then back to my phone to use with Citra. (I know that I could check the md5 of each rom on Android to see if it matches No-intro checksums but that would take long unlike with a rom tool like clrmamepro which scans multiple roms in seconds)

Too bad retroarch and mamedevs got a bad relationship why can't we all exist without any drama and be a better species and achieve greater things :(
