Out of memory error while scanning
« on: 30 January 2019, 16:40 »

Folks, firstly: thanks for building such a great tool!

I just wanted to use ClrMamePro to do a scan for MAME 206 (ROMs and Software Lists). Unfortunately, it gives me an "Out of Memory" error right after it starts the scan. Its has never done so in the past. Here are the steps I took:

1. Let ClrMamePro create a .dat file from the mame64 executable (no problems)
2. In the scanner: use the "Systems" option to add the new Software Lists paths (no problems)
3. In the scanner: press the "New Scan" button - ERROR: Out of Memory

Any clues?

wow..interesting....never faced that before...haven't checked 206 yet...
new software lists? So you're using the combined softwarelist+mame mode...which is indeed a memory killer...you should think about using one profiler per software lists. Easier to handle.

I will check that memory though.....

Hmm...I've quickly setup an empty environment for a full (MAME/Softwarelist) .206 and hit start and it runs..

so...which OS are you running with how much RAM, which version of cmpro do you run 32/64 bit....does a system reboot helps? or the nightly build of cmpro?
