Problem with crlmamepro
« on: 09 August 2016, 14:34 »

Hello guys, i got a problem on crlmamepro, i can´t scan use MAME/OLD_MAME option on NMAMEX II. I got this error...

Unknown option '-listxml', continue anyway?
Yes.
Emulator runs and i turn off appears this...
Found an incomplete datfile or a bad exe-output!
Last correctly imported set:
Name: none
Discription: none
File: C:\Program Files\crlmamepro\temp\_tempdat.

No ways to make it compatible?
This emulator is really good and provides me only neogeo.

Thanks.  ;)

well....if you want to directly import data from an emulator executable, it needs an option (like MAME's -listxml) to output a (rather compatible) list.
If if does not, tough luck.

I don't know NMAMEX II so I can't tell you if it has a parameter to export the needed information.

NMAMEX II is a chinese emulator made by Creamymami and it's avaliable on emufrance. :)
Only runs 32bits and use the old style of mame.

Then you should ask the authors if they support a database extract commandline parameter

You can try old version of Clrmamepro with all 4 emulators.
Nmamex2 shows rom info on the main window under snap shot (exclude optional bios files).

If the emulator only shows the information within a window, cmpro won't be able to get them since cmpro runs the executable with an additional commandline paramter which prints out the needed information on standard output which is then redirected into a file...

It's pretty easy to test....run the emulator from commandline with either -listxml or -listinfo parameter and see if it outputs data...

....or give me a link where I can download the emulator and I can do a quick test

Neither -listinfo nor -listinfo are supported...tough luck.

You might ask the author if they can provide a commandline based parameter which prints out the needed information...

...or you simply use official MAME.

creamymami told me there is a few old crlmamepro menu versions it works this emulator, this one don´t have list or xml, but if doesn´t work, creamymami told me to use fba chinese emulator to extract the dat file and use only neogeo for NMAMEX II.  ;)
I wish i could find older versions of crlmamepro just to test it.

And I as the author of cmpro can tell you if this emulator does not provide a commandline switch to printout the setinformation, cmpro is and never was able to directly get the data.

Maybe the had an option in their emulator past or simply refer to external datfiles..which of course work with cmpro.
