Some in between build.....
« on: 03 May 2012, 20:15 »

since I'm in the middle of something....and too busy to do a full release at the moment....so here's something to play with:

http://mamedev.emulab.it/clrmamepro/binaries/cmp20120503.rar

misc: reset profile to not scanned in case scan was skipped
misc: changed the error message for .7z files which aren't 7z archives
misc: added CMPro_TempFolder and CMPro_TempFolder_Clean settings to cmpro.ini to let
you select the cmpro folder and optionally clean it on startup. Default value is
the cmpro temp folder and data gets initially removed. You need to start/quit cmpro
      once to see this setting
misc: warnings window entries are logged to cmpro.log (cleared on startup)
fixed: chdversion check for merged sets can hide the result
fixed: xml parser failure when hitting an ending and starting xml comment in one line

Thanks Roman. I tried out the Temp options, but it seems to not work when both a custom folder is specified (ex: b:\cmp_tmp\) and CMPro_TempFolder_Clean = on.  Upon start, the folder is deleted and cmpro reverts to use of CMPro's default temp. Quitting the program then updates the ini with the default path (and two end slashes). I can only use a custom temp while clean = off.

My disk is thanking you profusely. I can definitely see a bonus for those who don't use a disk cache.

*Edit: On further tests, CMPro is failing to re-create the folder while it is being browsed in Explorer.  I don't want to count myself out too soon, but I'm using Classic Shell to improve the Explorer interface by re-introducing features pruned by Microsoft in its infinite wisdom. Maybe this adds some race condition or lock to the FS entry?  The Explorer window auto-closes when it's deleted by CMPro, but when I revisit the path, it is not present. When I do not 'interfere' with the program's access to the folder by not being in it, cleanup works as expected.

Additionally, an extra slash is being appended to the CMPro_TempFolder on every exit.

Roman, I heard that they are implementing the option to rename files inside archive on next version of 7zip? Do you know anything about it and do you plan to add that feature to clr?

Haven't heard that. if there is an option I may add it but the general plan is to remove the external exe calls completely and use the sdk directly....but since I got nearly no time, din't count on it in the near future.

Thanks for the answer. And well, good luck with that, I heard that SDK is a mess.
