clrmame Discussion / Re: clrmamepro crashes while fixing
« on: 20 July 2010, 20:04 »
could be everything from a corrupt zip to a real bug. if you can figure out with which set it crashes, send me the zip in question. try to minimize the files youre scanning to find out more. for corrupt zips you can enable the strict scan mode in compressor settings. I can do some tests maybe next week earliest due to holiday.
windows 7 64bit isnt the prob since Im using it myself.

anyway, try to find out more... minimize the files youre scanning...or disable some check/fix options to see which part causrs the issue

fixed for next version...if it finds a doctype mess/mame/software list it directly marks the dat as detected...

Good question...I don't know without looking at the source...but I think it checks for the first game listed....

2927
clrmame's profiler got a line limit to detect various types of xml datfiles...simply for speed reason...it checks...let's say 128 lines (have to look up the value) to see if it found enough information to decide if it's listxml, offlinexml, hyperblabla...etc..

Moving the comments to the end will of course solve it......increasing the number count, too (maybe I should move the value in the config file...).

I will think about it.....however holiday time starts soon....maybe a quick release before...no idea yet ;)

clrmame Discussion / Re: Light Blue Text?
« on: 06 July 2010, 06:03 »
cmpro only lists issues...so if you got something listed for your set, your set got a problem. The tree output should tell you what...most likely missing files....
Light blue simply indicates clone files while parent ones are black (unless you change the colors).

2929
yep

2930
there is an option in cmpro.ini (...allowsomething...dont remember the exact name at the moment being on mobile phone...) ...enable it.

clrmame Discussion / Re: Files not changed
« on: 26 June 2010, 19:39 »
I need some more information....could be anything...like:

- you're using 7z solid archives which can't be updated with current 7z
- the archives are corrupt so fixing fails for some reason
- the rebuilder only rebuilds valid files (= hash match)...so maybe the input files do not match anything valid
- etc....etc..

so....give me some more information or send me example files+dat and let me know what you try to do.

III) is the same issue as I). I've accidently skipped the filling of the line if a blank is being sent...so you always see the last filled entry there...will be fixed.

IV) can't reproduce this here...if you're using addpaths, you will see 2 progress bars, the upper one counts the addpaths, the lower one the files in the current addpath, so the lower one goes to 100% and then restarts for the next addpath.

II) is the only interesting thing here ;)...which I can't repeat yet

A fixed version for III/I is here:

I) hmm..yeah..I do remember that I disabled the update when the line is blank...looks like a stupid optimization...assume this gets fixed.

II) try to reproduce it and give me details (.dat, .cmp file and the scenarion which actually causes this)

III) what do you mean exactly? The dialog shows the currently processed file and the last successful rebuilds...so nothing is considered to get blanked out...
...but actually it could be related to I) as well....

IV) either you've added files to the used folders during rebuild or maybe it found some archives in archives....however that should not go >100%

2934
well, it stays it its current form, i.e. as external exe call....I simply don't have the time to include the 7z sdk code or the dll calls....I tried it before...it's way too messy compared to e.g. rar.....

2935
well...maybe 7z 9.x supports it.....I don't plan to waste any more time to integrate the 7z sdk into cmpro....

2936
You're most likely using solid 7z archives...removing/adding single files does not work in this case....use not solid archives or zip/rar

clrmame Discussion / Re: no clones
« on: 07 June 2010, 18:42 »
Of course you know that there are sets out there where only the clones do work, while the parent emulation status is incomplete...

but anyway...

Go to scanner->scan results -> Set Information window (button bottom left)
and
- enter "%c=?*" in the "select sets" edit box
- enable "logical NOT"
- hit "apply"

This enables only parent sets....now you can scan/rebuild/merge and only these enabled sets will be rebuilt/etc.

easy answer for that: cmpro creates unique filenames in the backup folder to avoid overwriting. it uses underscore plus some numbers in case a to-be-backuped file already exists in the backupfolder. so nothing unusual here.
