hmmm...ok little bug found.....it asks over and over again (even if you say yes-for-all) if you need to move incorrect placed files (sysdefpaths)....will fix it soon.

well...that setting you've found stores the index (zero based) of the drop down box :)

clrmame Discussion / cmpro 4.07 released
« on: 09 August 2012, 20:52 »
4.07

added: chdman settings option to ignore warning for BADDUMP chds
added: rebuilder advanced option to list matched chds (so that's a first step towards chds rebuilding)
misc:  dummy clones/fake clone (100% identical sets) detection now takes chds into account
misc:  show prompt for fixing wrong sysdefpath issues
misc:  ignoring chds in matchgame function for some speedup here and there
misc:  updated rar dll
fixed: crash when using setinformation->show enabled
fixed: create rompaths for sysdefpaths can rarely create an empty path which will then be "current path"
fixed: wrong sysdefpath issue output was sometimes missing when chds and roms didn't share the same path
fixed: sysdefpath auto-rompath creation didn't ask for standard/mechanical/devices

Scanner->SetInformation->select sets...

now find a good expression for that one and hit apply e.g. %d=*PAL (Europe)* to select all sets which have description including the substring PAL (Europe)....
...and finally hit the export button....

if you move the mouse over the drop down arrow of the select sets box, you'll get a flyover with allowed variable usage...

you mean that?

Settings->Compressor->CHDMan->List CHD version mismatches during scan?
and (assuming you grabbed http://mamedev.emulab.it/clrmamepro/binaries/cmp20120704.rar)
Settings->Compressor->CHDMan->Don't list mismatches for bad dumps

06/13/2012: 1.01 version out. Added display version of chdman. Folder recursion only finds CHD's.

clrmame Discussion / Re: Updating CHD

sure it supports batch processing...

You select a source folder, a destination folder, select "update" and hit apply...it scans the source (and its subs) for chds and updates them to the destination folder...

so it's just a click to convert all....

clrmame Discussion / Re: Updating CHD

It's not really the purpose of an audit tool to convert them...

Especially since it wasn't even safe to do so till 146u3....and even with 146u3 there are known baddumps which will create a different sha1 after converting...and even with 146u3 there are 4 chds which aren't marked as baddump which will also create a different sha1...

....use chdman fe (http://www.progettosnaps.net/tools/) and convert them if you really need to convert them...

clrmame Discussion / Re: Error with latest Mame 0.146u3
« on: 16 July 2012, 06:27 »
cmpro does not use the registry at all. the installer might but who's using that anyway ;)
the mentioned error happens if the mame binary got a problem with generating its xml oitput. pretty common if you're using a binary which was not clean compiled,ie no 'make clean' before a 'make'

looks like mamedevs didn't mark all baddump chds as baddump....I guess there are already 3-4 known ones which should get marked with the next mame release...

haven't tested myself but users reported the following:

Punch Mania: Hokuto No Ken (GQ918 VER. JAB ALT CD) [system: System 573 BIOS - folder: pnchmna - parent: fghtmn - size: 6mb]
required chd version mismatch: 918jab02.chd [found version: 4] [required version: 5]

Jingi Storm - The Arcade (GDL-0037) [system: Naomi GD-ROM Bios - folder: jingystm - size: 28mb]

ah ok...now I see it...

well...it's because you're using system default paths...which is totally obsolete if you're using only 2 paths. Go to systems and use unbind all.
You told cmpro to move everything to "roms" with your setting.

However cmpro didn't show the wrong sysdefpath message in that case (which is fixed for next version). Generally fixing wrong sysdefpath issues isn't prompted...maybe I change that.

clrmame Discussion / Re: WinRAR suggestion/query

Renaming is done differently in cmpro. It calls winrar's add/delete options only. I may check if the cmdline winrar rename operation can be used.

I will try your description later tonight....

what you can do is to send me your cmpro.ini, and the belonging .cmp file for the used profile (cmpro's settings folder).

clrmame Discussion / Re: CHD problem

Tested your setup here...I can't repeat that.
It does not move anything from the chd folder to the roms folder...it does not prompt (why should it) either. Maybe you should clean the cache, or setup a new profile.
Or double check if the description you gave was fully correct (and the files). I followed your described way and yes, 1st scan shows the missing one, but 2nd scan does not move the chd.

hmm...ok when I find some free minutes I will test your scenario...most likely tonight (CET).

Of course it should at least ask you if the wrong placed chd should be moved or not....but I will see...

clrmame Discussion / Re: CHD problem

Generally nothing is moved if you don't have fix options enabled.

So the 2nd folder only holds chds (in their belonging subfolders) or the belonging sets, too? If only the chds, it doesn't really make sense since chds belong to the game, so cmpro wants to move it there anyway.
There are several rules when a chd is moved and to which place...depends also on the used merge mode...but generally it looks where the roms are...
