4.028

misc: dir2dat, software exports adds offset=0
misc: dir2dat, prevent system sleep mode
misc: dir2dat, add manufacturer from folder also works for non-single-set mode
misc: dir2dat, when addYear/addManufacturer is used, tags get initialized with "????"
      (unless they get a value assigned by other options)
fixed: setinfo tree disappears when no devices or mechanicals are used

clrmame Discussion / clrmamepro 4.027 released
« on: 25 January 2016, 21:03 »
4.027

misc:  32bit version still runs on SSE1 processors
misc:  compiled with VS Studio 2015 Update 1
misc:  updated to unrar lib/sdk 5.31.1 and 7z lib/sdk to 15.14
misc:  prevent system sleep mode for scan, rebuild, merge tasks

misc:  the minimum value for rebuilder option to skip folder after X skipped files is now 1

added: setinfo tree lists empty sets only on request (context menu) and empty tree branches are removed
misc:  setinfo tree gets reendered on actions (apply, invert, etc) when show enabled/disabled is used
added: %r=1, %P=1, %H=1 variable (has roms, is sample-only set, is chd-only set)
misc:  select sets variables %h,%p,%M,%B,%I,%r,%P,%H also supports =0 now
       (e.g. %h=1 has chds; %h=0 hasn't chds)

removed: cmpro.ini switch Adv_DatFormatXML, Export format (from setinfo) can now be switched in dir2dat
added: dir2dat can export in softwarelist format (pretty preliminary but a start)
added: dir2dat option add manufacturer -> from folder, which takes the current folder name as
       manufacturer/publisher (in single set mode only)

hint: if you don't collect chds/samples and don't want cmpro to moan about missing sets, you can use
      %H=1;%P=1 (Apply, Invert, check 'initial invert' checkbox) to disable chd-only and sample-only sets

clrmame Discussion / coming up
« on: 16 December 2015, 21:24 »
well...as you might noticed, it's pretty silent around cmpro...why? well...holiday season is coming up...end of year real life stress....

But from time to time I add some tiny not really that important stuff...currently this...

misc:  32bit version still runs on SSE1 processors
misc:  updated to unrar lib/sdk 5.30 (final)and 7z lib/sdk to 15.12 (final)
misc:  select sets variables %h=1 (has chds) also supports =0 now (hasn't chds). Same for %p,%M,%B,%I.
added: added %r=1/0 variables (has roms)
added: dir2dat can export in softwarelist format (pretty preliminary but a start)
removed: cmpro.ini switch Adv_DatFormatXML
added: export format (in setinfo dialog) can now be switched via dir2dat format option

to do: some select sets variable to select chd-only, sample-only, roms-only sets (which isn't identical to %r=0...since there are sets which only consist of e.g. biosroms and chds...or only nodumps and chds...etc...have to think about that a bit)

haven't fully checked the softwarelist.dtd yet. (maybe a dataarea element can have all roms as childs and its size entry is the sum of all sizes)...but an export (from standard MAME sets) will look probably like this...

<?xml version="1.0" ?>
<!DOCTYPE softwarelist SYSTEM "softwarelist.dtd">
<softwarelist name="MAME" description="Current MAME">
   <software name="005">
      <description>005</description>
      <year>1981</year>
      <publisher>Sega</publisher>
      <part name="" interface="">
         <dataarea name="rom" size = "2048">
            <rom name="1346b.cpu-u25" size="2048" crc="8e68533e" sha1="a257c556d31691068ed5c991f1fb2b51da4826db"/>
         </dataarea>
         <dataarea name="rom" size = "2048">
            <rom name="5092.prom-u1" size="2048" crc="29e10a81" sha1="c4b4e6c75bcf276e53f39a456d8d633c83dcf485"/>
         </dataarea>
         <dataarea name="rom" size = "2048">
            <rom name="5093.prom-u2" size="2048" crc="e1edc3df" sha1="4f593546bbb0f50850dc6286cb514af6831c27a7"/>
         </dataarea>
etc..etc..

clrmame Discussion / set archive or folder warnings
« on: 01 October 2015, 17:47 »
From time to time you might face one of the following errors:

"Set exists in various rompaths" ... well, here some manual work is needed, check if you got multiple instances of the archive in questions, move them to a temporary place and re-add them to your collection, e.g. by using the rebuilder (which moves it to the correct place).

"Set archive AND set folder exist in the same rompath", for non-chd sets you have a subfolder named after the set AND the rom archive (zip/rar/7z) somewhere...you can remove the folder (if you prefer archived sets)
For sets WITH chds, you should double check the chd subfolders. THere might be some non chd files in there which can be removed (since you most likely have them already in the archive, too)

clrmame Discussion / some fixes for the night...
« on: 30 September 2015, 19:23 »
as you see in the 4.025 forum post, some users reported some problems...so you might want to test out this nightly compile...
http://mamedev.emulab.it/clrmamepro/binaries/cmp20150930.rar

fixed: exception when loading of 7z dll failed
fixed: evil romcheck skip when chds of the set were replaced and the archive is stored in the same path
fixed: re-fixed wrong placed/unneeded chd detection problem when setnames share the same name across software lists

clrmame Discussion / XP Users again
« on: 28 September 2015, 12:14 »
Hi,

there is one user who got issues running the latest official version on Windows XP. I myself tested it on a XP SP3 virtual machine and it runs fine.
Is there still another XP user out there who can say it cmpro 4.024 works?

clrmame Discussion / clrmamepro 4.024 released
« on: 23 September 2015, 20:01 »
4.024

fixed: cmpro still shows a wrong checksum message for unneeded chds even after removing them.
fixed: general 32bit cut down issue when calculating size/checksums of files in zip64 archives
misc:  xml datfiles with "machine" elements instead of game elements are parsed, too
misc:  xml datfile export (either setinformation or dir2dat) uses "machine" as set element
       (cmpro.ini Adv_SetElementXML value holds the value in case you want to change it to "game")
misc:  updated zipclass library to 4.6.2
misc:  updated unrar library 5.30.4
misc:  updated 7z library and sdk to 15.07
misc:  ah yeah, if you don't know already, zip64 format now is officially supported

clrmame Discussion / clrmamepro 4.023 released
« on: 18 September 2015, 19:34 »
4.023

fixed: cmpro did not mark old chd files (replaced with identical named but different checksum files) as unneeded
fixed: cmpro oversees some unneeded chds (dupe) chds in sysdef paths when the correct chd is also present (quizard sets)
fixed: cmpro doesn't warn about some unpacked rom files within chd subfolders if a rom archive also exists
added: setinformation "initial invert" option, which inverts your selection on database load (so you need to manually hit the invert button)

clrmame Discussion / Windows XP Users
« on: 17 August 2015, 06:42 »
Background: I've switched from Visual Studio 2008 (yes..ancient) to VS2015 now....From the installation process I know that there are extra optional settings to support Windows XP builds....

But..come on..it's 2015 and noone should really use XP anymore....

so.......is there really a need for having a clrmamepro built which supports Windows XP?

clrmame Discussion / something to test
« on: 14 August 2015, 21:10 »
Well, time for a test build....

misc:  new compiler (Visual Studio 2015) and environment (Windows 10 Pro 64bit)
fixed: wrong "wrong case" set message when a chd is missing
fixed: 7z/rar detection of obsolete folders fails in some cases
fixed: datfile nodump flag gets ignored in case of an additional size=0 entry

I haven't done any checks if the exe files still work under XP/7/8...but I guess you will let me know.

http://mamedev.emulab.it/clrmamepro/binaries/cmp20150814.rar

actually a quick speed test is not that good. The vs2015 compiled exe seems to be a bit slower (scanning speed). I will check if it's related to the latest fixes or compiler optimization flags, etc....

clrmame Discussion / MAME 164
« on: 29 July 2015, 20:35 »
regarding MAME 164 and latest cmpro....

yes I'm aware of a wrong and empty "wrong case" message when a clone chd is missing

...but currently I'm busy...so...ignore it ;-) Guess it will disappear automatically if you got the chd in question....
