Hi,
cmpro 4.035, I've got a few new files... I got into Rebuilder, and it says "Created files: 2".
I run Rebuilder again... and again says "Created Files: 2"...
and I run Rebuilder yet again... and again it says "Created Files: 2"...

Strange.. I enable and check log file, looking for the "->" string, which is the one I understand indicates that Rebuilder created a file, and I see those 2 files, all the time:

D:\tmp\e74-05++.ic15
  -> pwrshovl.zip\e74-05++.ic15
  [EXISTS: pwrshovl\e74-05++.ic15]

D:\tmp\e74-07.ic6
  -> pwrshovl.zip\e74-07.ic6
  [EXISTS: pwrshovla\e74-07.ic6]
  [EXISTS: pwrshovla\e74-07.ic6]
  [EXISTS: pwrshovl\e74-08.ic8]

and yes, the .ic6 files appears duplicated (EXISTS line is repeated).

So, is there anything wrong with my files? or cmpro?

I expected it would create the files, once, and if I run Rebuilder again, it will say "zero files created"...

Thanks a lot,

Regards,

Thanks Roman... I'm using mameui64, and it seems it doesn't have all dat files... maybe in the normal mame...
Anyway, I'd like to ask you something if possible... I've checked the log of the rebuilder, when there is a match:

Something like this:

D:\tmp\MAME\andrindyj.zip\dsp1.bin
  [EXISTS: hanguk\dsp1.bin]
  [EXISTS: lockon\dsp1a.u2]
  -> suzuka8j.zip\dsp1a.u3
  [EXISTS: sns_dsp1leg_hi\dsp1.bin]
  -> supf1cg.zip\dsp1.bin
  [EXISTS: basload2\dsp1.bin]
  -> pfest94.zip\dsp1.bin
  -> smkartup.zip\dsp1.u4
  -> smkartu.zip\dsp1.u3

The "->" means that the rom was identified and used/added to an existing rom... problem is, since I'm using sw lists, I don't know which system was updated... Could You please add an option in the Advanced Settings of the Rebuilder to add the complete rom path in the log? This way I could identify which system it was.

Thanks a bunch once more :)

Thanks Roman,
I think it failed because the "rompath". When I finished adding all 500+ dirs under Scanner, and hit "new scan" I got a dialog saying "do you want to add rompaths..." I thought adding the parent folder "roms" would be enough.... So I guess I had no idea I had to add more rompaths :(
About batcher, not sure I got that right. You mention "select multiple profiles"... so I would need to create 500+ profiles, one per system, by hand previously?
Again, thanks a bunch,

Hi, I'm setting up software lists. I have 514 directories under "roms" folder, one per system. In the Scanner window, I used "auto-assign" hoping clrmame would recongnize all my 500+ folders, but no... too bad... I hope this will be fixed someday soon.
Anyway, I went manually to add the first one, but the dialog box only shows 1 folder, ignoring the other 500+ plus.
Attached an image.
Can you please let me know what's wrong? Am I doing something wrong?
I did expect the auto-assign function would recognize all folder automagically. Too bad it didn't.
Thanks a lot,

Thanks Ronan...

Found what happened... f***ing Windows 10... For some reason, win10 is deleting the files (not moving them to the bin; just plain old delete)... this happens right after I drag/drop them from WinRar or 7Zip to my "temp" folder, then I switch to cmp window, and on that switch, Win10 deletes all the files, so when I hit Rebuild, no files...

it seems this happens when I hit the "Rebuild" icon from the main menu... 'cause if I hit that button before the drag&drop, and then I hit the "rebuild" button from the Rebuild dialog it works...!

So.. maybe when you click the Rebuild icon from the main menu, cmp may be "cleaning" the temp directory defined???

Hi,
I've noticed sometimes cmp Rebuilder just does nothing, even when sourced with valid roms/bios files.
Today I put bios and roms files under a "temp" I use, started cmp, Rebuild, and nothing. Dialog with statistics came with "0 source files". I enabled logfile, tried again, but logfile is not even created!
Please help! This is not the first time I see this behavior.
Thanks!

27
thanks... it worked!

Thanks!

Precisely, I've never seen this 'multi-software lists' before. I haven't used mame in a long while.

The default was 'yes', so I kept this. I'll do what you say tonight from home, and let You know.

thanks again,

Leo

Hi.

I've just installed this app, added Mame and defined 2 directories (roms-path y samples-path), all fine so far...

Then I go to Scanner...

I click Scan, and it complained about systems path... I don't use. I just have all my roms under one big fat folder.

Anyway, I click on 'None', and scanned again... I can see the Scanner is checking my files, but in the end, it shows ZERO for everything.

I then tried selecting ALL and AUTO-DETECT, but a new error appear saying I can't have shared directories...

So I can't use system-paths, but if I tell cmp to NOT use system paths, it will see my roms, but detect none...

Is this correct?

Thanks,

Leo

Thanks a lot!

May I ask then for one new feature for cmp? Currently, I have to add each folder twice (one as sysdefpath, then a second one as rompath). Could it be possible to simplify this process, and have somewhere a check box saying "Same sysdefpath as rompath" or something like that, so I only have to add each folder ONCE?

 p.s.: still trying to figure out why/when would someone would like to have rompaths different than sysdefpaths, but...

Best regards,

Leo

32
Ok. got that... thanks...

now, one more question... let's say I have my roms in sysdefpaths as:
\path\roms\system1\
\path\roms\system2\
\path\roms\system3\
and so on...

Could I use as rompath just 1 folder, the parent one?
\path\roms\

In this case, would the Scan be recursive? (scan all folder below the rompath)?

Regards,

Leo

33
Ups... I'm more lost than I thought.... I though sysdefpaths were also rompaths... aren't they paths where roms are? Just they are separated (one folder per system?)

Regards,

Leo

34
Ok... my fault... Rompaths versus sysdefpaths... Now, this is quite confusing, and something I always want to ask about...

I can add \path1\folder1\ in Settings\Rompaths, but when adding system paths, I think, I should be able to JUST select from that list, and no like the current behavior which allows to select any other folder in the disk. I mean, when selecting system paths, they should be selected ONLY from the list I already have in Rompaths...

Currently, I can choose any folder from the disk, not neccessarly from the list of valid rompaths I already have.

Why this? Is it possible to change that?

Leo

Hola...

I'm running latest clrmamepro. Just did a "New Scan" looking missing SETs only. I've got a lot which are incorrect. I do have the roms, I can load them in mame32ui, for instance, but for some reason clrmamepro reports them as MISSING.

I'm using systems paths, and I have ALL paths correctly defined.

What could be wrong?

For instance, clrmamepro tells me SoulClb2 is missing. I've checked the syspath for sys246 and it's ok, but still...

Thanks a lot,

Leo

Thanks again! Much help! :)

Just one more thing, if You please... (I'm new to CHD's)

I've checked CHDs (clrmamepro latest version) and it tells me I'm missing 332/420... which means I already have 87...

I did a dir /s *.chd under my roms folder, and it found none... So, how can I tell which one do I have, and where they are, their names, etc.???

Leo

Thanks! and what would be that " wierd storing mode"???

Should chd's go uncompressed or can they go zipped?

clrmame Discussion / how to add CHD using clrmamepro?
« on: 26 January 2010, 04:13 »
Hi... I tried to rebuild some games, which are missing CHDs. I put some CHD on a temp folder, and used clrmamepro REBUILD function to add them, but it didn't... I guessed that if clrmamepro can show missing CHD, it should also add/rebuild/fix them... Right?

So I ask... how to???

Thanks a lot,

Leo
