clrmame Discussion / datfile problem - double rom?
« on: 29 December 2009, 18:01 »
I'm using the latest version of clrmamepro, and used it to scan the 135u4 version of MAMEUI32. It then popped up a box with the following info:

Set:   Trivia ? Whiz (Edition 3 - Horizontal) (set 1)
Name:   trvwz3h
ROM:   gen-002_02

Issue:   Double ROM with different hashvalues found

Keep ROM but rename it?
Otherwise it'll be removed from the set definition.

So what is the appropriate thing to do here? Should I click yes to rename it or no to remove from the set definition? Does anybody know why this would happen?

But I'm running XP home and I don't have that option; by default, everything I run is under administrator. I believe that uac is for Vista. Also. I tried the zip folder version of clrmamepro as well, and extracted it to my desktop, and tried running it from there, with the same results. I forgot to mention that I had given that a go as well.

Well, I ran it again before you replied, and strangely, it ran okay, so I let it run through all my MAME roms. Once, the window vanished for about 2 seconds, and I thought I was in trouble, but it popped back up and continued scanning. It finally completed, and everything seems to have gone okay. Then I checked back here, and saw your reply. So I checked the root folder of clrmamepro again, and there was still no cmpro.ini file, even after it ran okay and I closed it. So I created a text file and named it cmpro.ini, and copied the text you suggested, and then ran it again. It ran fine, and I closed it and reopened cmpro.ini again. Now, it was full of new values that weren't there before, but the text I copied in was gone; it just overwrote the whole thing. So I copied the Adv_HideWindow = off line in again, and closed it, ran it, and reopened the ini file again. Now the line is still in there, and everything seems to be fine. Very strange.

Well, thanks for your help. Much appreciated. One question, though. Do you think the roms are okay that I scanned earlier, before the cmpro.ini file was created? I was following the guide on another forum for updating my MAME roms, and everything seems to go fine except the window vanishing and reappearing once. But it seemed to continue without a hitch, and in the end, it seems to have completed everything without any problems. The roms couldn't be messed up could they? Because now they are all changed and merged, so I'd hate to think they were somehow corrupted if clrmamepro was acting wonky.

Okay, I'm looking in the program folder for clrmamepro, and I don't see any cmpro.ini. The only .ini files are stats.ini, urls.ini, and version.ini. I also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the program, with no difference.

What I don't get is, it appears fine for a second, then disappears. First I get a little window saying "welcome to clrmamepro. Common next steps are...". And that stays up until I click ok. But once I click okay, the profiler window pops up, then immediately goes away.

clrmame Discussion / clrmamepro auto-minimizing problem
« on: 20 April 2009, 19:51 »
Hi. I am trying to run the latest version of clrmamepro, but every time I run it, the window comes up for about 1 second, then immediately minimizes to the bottom of the screen, and I can't restore it. I can't right-click it, and if I left-click it, nothing happens. All I can do is bring up the task manager and end the program. I've also tried it with older versions, and the same thing happens. This is the first time I've tried it on my new computer, and I've ran this before on my old computer with no problems. I am running Windows XP SP3 32bit. Anybody have any ideas what is happening?

Also, once I managed to click "options" before it minimized, and I thought it was ok, but then a couple seconds after the options window opened, the whole thing minimized again.
