clrmame Discussion / Re: MESS XML import
« on: 03 September 2010, 21:00 »
Hmmm...

What I have been doing is using the actual .xml files from the "hash" directory.

To sort a pile of roms I use the .XML output: "mess -listsoftware > mess_software_lists.xml" and then rebuild those rebuilt files with each individual system "XML".  (Before someone asks/tells, I have too many roms spread around to do a "batch run".

Only "problem" is for the "big" XML, the profile name is "a5200"... no big deal.

Anyways, is my way of doing it wrong, meaning will I not end up with the same results?

On a side note, is "cloneof" working?

no bioses in the .dats and the "Separate BIOS sets" option is greyed out. "Allow not separated BIOS ROMs" is unchecked

I get the error on rebuild but not on scan

Yes   No

I have updated and also used an update on another set. Both now give that error message every time I try to rebuild.

To the best of my knowledge neither dat has any bios associations.

I wanted to run zipmax on an older machine so as to not tie up my main box.

But, it won't even load???

I have all the files in all the right places but no go?

When you do a copy All Listed Incomplete Sets (probably other copies as well?), at the completion it says something to the effect that the sets were moved and to do a scan...

No big deal but I figured I'd report it just in case  ;)

I just wondered if there was a problem with the scanner output... just in case the statistics were right and the output was wrong

Newest version 3.133

When I do a "new scan", switch profiles, then go back to the first profile, my only choice is a "new scan" and not just "scan"

is there a way to ignore/skip the invalid names? or an ok/cancel warning? similar to the log/status window saying that a file is locked/in use

did you unpack the file?

it happens to me on EVERY dat. It's the filename itself that is giving cmpro fits.

clrmame Discussion / incompatable with some filenames
« on: 14 January 2010, 10:02 »
I remember posting about this before, but I cannot remember what the answer was. Anyways, it has been awhile....

When doing a rebuild, I get the error "Source: E:\keep\iLogicAll_Esspa+|ol.tzx doesn't exist!" and an ok box. Click on ok and the entire rebuild is canceled.

The filename is NOT normal.  However, can't an error message be given and a regular cancel or ok box allowing the rebuild to continue?

The aforementioned file is in the attached archive.

Thanks
