you need to load the datfile in the profiler. so double click it there (or select it and click on load). then you setup rompaths in settings and then you go to the scanner and scan.

Roman, thanks again for the help but I am still stuck.  I think I need it dumbed down a whole lot more.  I have the latest version of the clr file on my desktop.

Where do I find a "datfile" to load into profiler?  Is this another name for rom?

Where is the profiler located?

I appreciate your patience.

First of all, clrmame is a Windows application, it does run under crossover though...maybe with some hickups here or there.

Generally clrmame can be used to audit files for a given datfile. Audit means it can check your files against the data provided in the dat, and some if not most issues can be fixed by clrmame. Of course it cannot magically create files which you don't have.

So, find yourself a datfile for Mame4Droid which can be loaded into clrmamepro's profiler, then setup a rompath in settings which points to your rom archives, then go to the scanner and scan. It will tell you what's missing / what is wrong with your collection....and if the fix options are enabled, it can upate your sets.

clrmame Discussion / Newb without a clue!

Hey guys!  I will be the first to admit, I have no clue when it comes to Mame.  I was able to install Mame4Droid on my xperia play and can get some ROMs to work.

However, there are some ROMs that I have DL'd from DroidEmuROMGet (free app) that won't show up on my Mame4Droid main menu.

Do these need to be converted with the clrmame?  if so, can someone direct me to a step by step.  I have DL'd the clrmame (32 bit) to my macbook and have no idea what to do next.

Any help is appreciated!

Much love,

The Newb!
