clrmame Discussion / Rom rename issue in 4.04
« on: 10 March 2012, 21:51 »
Hi

I am scanning mame roms (0.0145) with clrmamepro (v4.04) using the fix options enabled (ie. ticked).

I get the following message on about two dozen roms:

"
Set:   Cadillacs and Dinosaurs (World 930201)
Name:   dino
File:   G:\EMULATOR_ROMS\Mame_ArcadeRoms_145\dino.zip

Do you want to rename the following wrong named ROMs?

cd_q.rom -> cd_q.5k
cd_q1.rom -> cd-q1.1k
cd_q2.rom -> cd-q2.2k
cd_q3.rom -> cd-q3.3k
cd_q4.rom -> cd-q4.4k
cde_21a.rom -> cde_21a.6f
"
When I select 'Yes'  or 'Yes to All', the renaming does not occur. (ie. the next time I scan, the same question occurs).

I cannot figure out why the renaming is not working.

I am running Windows 7, and I run Clrmamepro in 'Run as Administrator'.

I look forward to anyones help.

clrmame Discussion / Missing Sets
« on: 05 August 2009, 12:30 »
Hi Roman,

Thank you for your earlier post to my previous post on the question of sets.

I have now done a scan of my mame 133b roms using sets and roms option in ClrMamePro.

Using just the Roms scan, I have all the roms, but when using roms and sets scan together, I have a number of sets missing.

Example of scan results using roms and sets options enabled:

beatmania IIDX (863 JAA) [system: Twinkle System - folder: bmiidx - size: 1mb]
missing set: beatmania IIDX (863 JAA)
Chaos Heat (V2.09O) [system: Taito GNET - folder: chaoshea - size: 5mb]
missing set: Chaos Heat (V2.09O)
Chaos Heat (V2.08J) [system: Taito GNET - folder: chaoshej - parent: chaoshea - size: 5mb]
missing set: Chaos Heat (V2.08J)
Candy Puzzle (v1.0) [system: Amiga CD32 Bios - folder: cndypuzl - size: 1mb]
missing set: Candy Puzzle (v1.0)
Code One Dispatch (ver D) [system: Konami Viper BIOS - folder: code1d - size: 264kb]
missing set: Code One Dispatch (ver D)
Code One Dispatch (ver B) [system: Konami Viper BIOS - folder: code1db - parent: code1d - size: 264kb]
missing set: Code One Dispatch (ver B)
Come On Baby [folder: comebaby - size: 64kb]
missing set: Come On Baby
CD-ROM Drive Updater 2.0 (700B04) [system: System 573 BIOS - folder: cr589fw - size: 512kb]
missing set: CD-ROM Drive Updater 2.0 (700B04)
CD-ROM Drive Updater (700A04) [system: System 573 BIOS - folder: cr589fwa - size: 512kb]
missing set: CD-ROM Drive Updater (700A04)
Flip Maze (V2.04J) [system: Taito GNET - folder: flipmaze - size: 5mb]
missing set: Flip Maze (V2.04J)
Go By RC (V2.03O) [system: Taito GNET - folder: gobyrc - size: 5mb]
missing set: Go By RC (V2.03O)
RC De Go (V2.03J) [system: Taito GNET - folder: rcdego - parent: gobyrc - size: 5mb]
missing set: RC De Go (V2.03J)
Harem Challenge [system: Amiga CD32 Bios - folder: haremchl - size: 1mb]
missing set: Harem Challenge

I have my roms merged.

The question I have is:

I want to collect the missing sets I have above. How do I go about it?

The reason I ask is that I have a mame roms 133b torrent (which I used to collect all my missing roms which are now up to date), and none of the missing sets above are in the torrent. So if the above missing sets are not in torrent, how do I go about collecting the missing sets? Are the missing sets required to have the game working?

You help is kindly appreciated.

Thanks,

Dariusz

Roman,

I have another question which I hope you can clear up for me:

I read your doc relating to the scanning dialog options, and I don't understand what the difference and when to use the options: Sets and Roms.

I 've only ever used the option Roms for my scanning, and can see why there is a need to use Sets to be used in the scanning process?

You explanation to clarify is kindly appreciated.

I extracted below the description of Sets and Roms scanning from you doc below, if it helps.

Thanks in advance for you help.

 ---------------------------

Sets
Check this option if you want to check sets. Combine this e.g. with unneeded, name, missing or case check.

ROMs
This option should be enabled if you want to scan the files of a set. Combine this option with e.g. missing, unneeded, length, CRC32/MD5 checksum, case or name check.

Thanks Roman,

The problem was relater to option 3. The issue has now been resolved.

Thank you.

Hi,

Just updated clrmamepro 3.127 with mame 133b, when I set to scan my roms dir, clrmamepro no longer gives me the option to scan my dir in merged set mode. It only gives me the option to scan in split sets mode. I don't have the problem when scanning mame 132b roms, but only happens with mame 133b???? Have I done some thing wrong?
