clrmame Discussion / CHD compressor
« on: 05 July 2018, 13:33 »
Dear Roman,

would you consider adding CHD compression support to clrmamepro alongside zip, rar etc.?

Recently Beetle PSX emulator was updated to support CHD files natively. Now I'd love to rebuild my PSX redump collection to this streamable format.

Of course I still want to be able to scan / fix my sets afterwards with redump dats...

Is that possible?

Kind regards

clrmame Discussion / Open source on Github

Hi Roman,
wouldn't it be awesome to have clrmamepro running on Linux natively? Isn't it time to move away from Windows?

How about opening source on Github? It'll be fun.

clrmame Discussion / Multitasking / Stop & Resume scan
« on: 25 September 2014, 13:51 »
Hi Roman,

is anything like multitasking planned? What I'm thinking of in detail are issues like:
- title of scan window shows "not responding" when moving the window while scan in progress
- re-sizing scan results window, expanding tree items in list not possible while scanning
- cancel button not responsive while scanning a large file
EDIT: It would be very helpful to see the scanning progress of an individual file (especially large files.)

Also just recently I moved my files to a larger hard drive and wanted to perform a comprehensive crc/md5/sha1 check. With hundreds of terabytes of 7-Zipped ISOs it would be really nice being able to stop the scan and resume it later (even after a system reboot).

Thanks and kind regards

:-)

clrmame Discussion / Change location of temp folder
« on: 24 May 2012, 18:39 »
Hello.

I'm in the process to scan/rebuild a large collection of roms and isos.
In order to do that I thought it would be a good idea to use clrmamepro, since it seems to be the most powerful software.
I've played around a little bit with it and rebuilt some smaller rom sets.

However I have noticed that crlmamepro uses a temp folder in its own appliaction directory to perform all actions involving renaming, unpacking etc.
Before I start rebuilding my very large iso folders I was wondering if there is any setting allowing me to either perform all these actions in RAM only OR in another location specified by myself (RAMDisk).
Reasons: First of all I want to protect my SSD (c:\ - application partition) from too many host write cycles (in particular of course NAND writes). And I think, performing these actions in RAM or in my virtual RAMDisk (ImDisk) should be faster.

A possible solution would propably be to install crlmamepro somewhere else and run it from the location of my choice. But is there any offical setting (planned) which would allow me to keep it installed on c:\?

Please let me know if anything is incomprehensible. Thanks!
