clrmame Discussion / DAT upgrade question
« on: 04 April 2020, 13:32 »
In this special situation and we are all waiting for the release of MAME 0.220 I have two "update" folders for MAME (freeze and update), never had this situation before :-)

When I'm updating the MAME SL updates it suggest to update it from Folder1 instead from Folder2 when there is a dat stored that have the same "name" .
Is that correct that the suggestion is based on the "name" of the dat and it goes "top-down" in the folder structure for searching?

Im uploading the dat to the correct subfolder. Is it possible to check the folder first where the dat is for an update? ....maybe it isn't possible, wouldn't be a big problem for me ;-)

I know for other situation it isn't possible to add a dat to the same folder when it has the same name ......but in my case it has a different file-name so I can upload it direct to this subfolder ;-)

clrmame Discussion / filenames are too long
« on: 14 November 2018, 12:10 »
some switch files have large file names example "0775 - SNK Heroines - Tag Team Frenzy - Thief Arthur (Japan) (En,Ja,Fr,De,Es,It,Zh,Ko) (v1.20) (DLC Unlocker) (eShop)".
foldernames + filename breaks the max limit for "normal" program to handle.

CLRMAME can not scan them and displays it as "unneeded", but they are correct. Is there small change that we can do something in CLRMAME?

Im collecting Switch roms which can be quite large (up to 32GB). I'm adding new roms to a temp folder and scan with CLRMAME. Now I have a lot of files that CLRMAME thinks they are not matching. When I'm doing a checksum verification with another tool the files apprears to match the dat-file.

I think above 9GB is the problem: Could there be a problem with large files that the sha1 calculations are wrong?

can someone confirms that? If you need a file Roman PM me ;-)
thanks a lot

Hi Roman

Im rebuilding a "corrupt" set to a new Location. Each time a corrupt file is accessed it askes me "will you stop the rebuilding process".
Is it possible to add a "Remember answer" tickbox to this msg-Windows so that you are only asked once?

thanks for your tool and time :-)

clrmame Discussion / update check fails
« on: 03 September 2017, 10:52 »
CLRMAMEPRO reports "can't receive version information" when it will check if a newer build is available or not, Im using the latest build (nightly 0831).
Maybe a file on the webserver is missing .....

thanks :-)

Creating a full dat with "mame64.exe -listxml >0161r35903.xml" and scanning with CLRMAME it displays me the following error when I want to have a full merged set (Option:"Hash Collision Name"):
(using a new build that contains MAME and MESS together)

wrong name: E:\mamesecret\MAME-ROMs\merged\MAME 0.162 ROMs\drpcjr\drpcjr_bios.bin [wrong: drpcjr_bios.bin] [right: drpcjr\drpcjr_bios.bin]
wrong name: E:\mamesecret\MAME-ROMs\merged\MAME 0.162 ROMs\famitwin\rp2c33a-02.bin [wrong: rp2c33a-02.bin] [right: famitwin\rp2c33a-02.bin]
wrong name: E:\mamesecret\MAME-ROMs\merged\MAME 0.162 ROMs\m82\m82_v1_0.bin [wrong: m82_v1_0.bin] [right: m82\m82_v1_0.bin]
wrong name: E:\mamesecret\MAME-ROMs\merged\MAME 0.162 ROMs\sf7000\ipl.rom [wrong: ipl.rom] [right: sf7000\ipl.rom]
wrong name: E:\mamesecret\MAME-ROMs\merged\MAME 0.162 ROMs\omv1000\omvbios.bin [wrong: omvbios.bin] [right: omv1000\omvbios.bin]
wrong name: E:\mamesecret\MAME-ROMs\merged\MAME 0.162 ROMs\omv2000\omvbios.bin [wrong: omvbios.bin] [right: omv1000\omvbios.bin]
missing but fixable (-> omv1000) rom: omv2000\omvbios.bin [size: 16384] [CRC32: c5a67b95] [SHA1: 6d7c64dd60dee4a33061d3d3a7c2ed190d895cdb]

All of them have a parent that contains no rom or disk file (nes and sg1000 parents are empty). CLRMAME wants to put the roms in a subfolder inside the zip or in case of omv2000 in a clone. With that "correction" the are not playable.

Can you have a look at it Roman?
