Undumped Wiki / If you want to help getting more PCBs dumped..
« on: 02 February 2011, 11:50 »
If you want to donate money towards the purchase of undumped games' PCBs or if you have an undumped game's PCB and don't know how to dump it, contact Smitdogg of The Dumping Union!
Every week lots of undumped PCBs are sold and funds are always needed.

Undumped Wiki / Time Crisis 3
« on: 15 June 2009, 07:37 »
I was wading through some games on System16 and noticed Time Crisis 3. It's tagged as Dumped in the Wiki. Only evidence I could find is a DVD in Guru's possession. Is it really dumped or it's only secured? In the second case I think it might be best to let it as "undumped" for the time being.

On 23 March 2009 Guru announced the arrival of Mitchell's Kono e Tako (System 10 hw). The undumped list features a game by Mitchell call This Taco, from 2003. Could this be a mistranslation?

The number of contributors is really really low. Do we know if anyone is even consulting it? Otherwise working on it isn't time well spent.

Undumped Wiki / Games I have serious doubts about
« on: 16 April 2009, 10:42 »
I'm starting this thread as a personal notebook, but I also hope someone can shed my doubts. (Perhaps the ones who entered the games in the list)

Technosoft
*Thunder Force AC 2 - It seems to me this might refer to Thunder Force II MD (Mega-Tech) by Technosoft / Sega, already in Mame

Tecmo
* Ninja Gaiden II - This might refer to Ninja Gaiden Episode II: The Dark Sword of Chaos (PlayChoice-10) by Tecmo (Nintendo of America license), already in Mame

I'll look into them with some serious google research after I finish removing all obvious already dumped games.

Undumped Wiki / Sexual Trivia - Kinky Kit and Game Co.
« on: 15 April 2009, 10:39 »
Anyone got an idea of why this game is listed? It's dumped and in Mame. Some particular version undumped? Any evidence? Otherwise I'm leaning on removing it.

Undumped Wiki / Developer names
« on: 14 April 2009, 10:31 »
Browsing the Mame source and the undumped list, I encountered many differences between developers' names in Mame and in our list.
One example is 8ing/Eighting, which is called 8ing in our list and Eighting in Mame source. Should we trust Mame and change our list?

Undumped Wiki / Pro Bowling (Data East)
« on: 09 April 2009, 10:07 »
The Pro Bowling entry seems iffy to me. The Deco Cassette version is dumped and in MAME and a quick google search coudn't find any evidence of a dedicated hw version ever exisiting.
I seem to remember there was an excellent source of Data East information called D.E.E.P or something similar, but I can't find it anymore.
If anyone can confirm the existance of a dedicated hw version, please post some infos. Otherwise I'm gonna remove it.

EDIT: Terranean e Zeroize too, please.

In the undumped list, some entries refer to different revisions/regions of already dumped games (for example, the World region of Fighting Fantasy from Data East).
I think we should agree on one standard.
a) we list every known undumped revision/region of every dumped game
b) we don't list known known undumped revisions/regions of dumped games
c) we list only significant known undumped revisions/regions of dumped games, with the lister explaining in the game page why that revision/region has particular significance (for example, different gameply, different graphics, adaptations...)

Undumped Wiki / Partially dumped games
« on: 09 April 2009, 09:53 »
In the undumped list, some entries refer to partially dumped games (for example, Explorer from Data East).
I think we should agree on one standard.
a) We include all games which are only partially dumped
b) We exclude them and create an autogenerated list from Mame
I vote for b.
Opinions?

The front page states:
Quote
When a consensus is reached that a game is already dumped or in MAME, please do not delete the page, change category:undumped to category:dumped and remove the listing from the main list :)

This is easy to understand.
But what happens when a game on the undumped list gets dumped and a page for it doesn't exist yet?
Yesterday, while I was deleting some games already in Mame, I always created the page and set it as "category: dumped". Other more prominent users as Haze and Incog simply delete the entry from the undumped list.
What is the official way? Is it worth it to clarify it on the front page?
Thanks
