clrmame Discussion / new error, re: bios
« on: 28 August 2010, 06:57 »
---------------------------
Warning
---------------------------
Scanner and Rebuilder use different methods to store bios roms

Do you want to continue?
---------------------------
Yes   No
---------------------------

I have updated and also used an update on another set. Both now give that error message every time I try to rebuild.

To the best of my knowledge neither dat has any bios associations.

clrmame Discussion / zipmax on XP
« on: 25 August 2010, 04:19 »
I wanted to run zipmax on an older machine so as to not tie up my main box.

But, it won't even load???

I have all the files in all the right places but no go?

When you do a copy All Listed Incomplete Sets (probably other copies as well?), at the completion it says something to the effect that the sets were moved and to do a scan...

No big deal but I figured I'd report it just in case  ;)

clrmame Discussion / scan status not saved
« on: 09 April 2010, 08:35 »
Newest version 3.133

When I do a "new scan", switch profiles, then go back to the first profile, my only choice is a "new scan" and not just "scan"

clrmame Discussion / incompatable with some filenames
« on: 14 January 2010, 10:02 »
I remember posting about this before, but I cannot remember what the answer was. Anyways, it has been awhile....

When doing a rebuild, I get the error "Source: E:\keep\iLogicAll_Esspa+|ol.tzx doesn't exist!" and an ok box. Click on ok and the entire rebuild is canceled.

The filename is NOT normal.  However, can't an error message be given and a regular cancel or ok box allowing the rebuild to continue?

The aforementioned file is in the attached archive.

Thanks

clrmame Discussion / using the renamer wizard
« on: 01 November 2009, 07:02 »
I am having difficulties completely understanding what to do.

I want to update the amyfever .dat file from 129u3 to 135. Do I need to put the amyfever dat file as the old and then make a .dat file from the 135 mame? (specifying mame.exe didn't work so I assume I need to manually make the xml output?) and then do I put the modify datfile as the original amyfever .dat file?

OR do I use an .xml/.dat out put of a 129u3 mame as old, .xml/.dat from 135 as new and then amyfever as modify?

I tried myself but have only succeeded in a headache  :'(

BTW, amyfever .dat file is located : http://www.mamechannel.it/pages/flyers.php under "AmyFever's Flyers".

Thanks

clrmame Discussion / unable to rebuild certain filenames
« on: 16 August 2009, 13:42 »
I have run into this a half-dozen times, I end up having to manually renaming the source name... could a a directory of 10,000 files and with one "bad" filename, the rebuilder aborts before it even starts

attached is such a file... (for the error to occur, the file needs to be uncompressed, OR a compressed filename with the "bad" filename used for the archive name)

thanks

clrmame Discussion / REQ: changed recognition of updated dats
« on: 02 August 2009, 07:39 »
Could the recognition be changed to allow for spaces in the filename?

When I use ProgettoSnaps (http://progettosnaps.mameworld.info/pS_Dats.html), I am always asked if I want to update "pS Versus"...

Examples:

pS Bosses 20090723 (cm).dat
pS Cabinets 20090703 (cm).dat
pS Cabinets 20090801 (cm).dat
pS GameOver 20090723 (cm).dat
pS HowTo 20090723 (cm).dat
pS Logo 20090723 (cm).dat
pS Marquees 20090726 (cm).dat
pS Scores 20090723 (cm).dat
pS Select 20090723 (cm).dat
pS Snap-InGame 20090723 (cm).dat
pS Titles 20090723 (cm).dat
pS Versus 20090723 (cm).dat

I am trying to update "pS Cabinets 20090703 (cm).dat" with "pS Cabinets 20090801 (cm).dat" but it happens with all of them (except of course updating Versus with Versus ;)

clrmame Discussion / wrong missing set scans
« on: 09 July 2009, 03:59 »
I was having a REALLY long scan time, so I disabled check for missing. This didn't increase the speed. On a whim, I disabled the "deeper check for fixable missing files" option. This "fixed" the speed. Should the deeper check run when fix missing is disabled? (I hope I haven't reported/asked this question before)

clrmame Discussion / Viewing ALL profiles
« on: 24 June 2009, 03:34 »
I could have sworn that at one point there was a way to view all the profiles at once?

Meaning if I have a bunch of sub-profile groups with profiles in each one, there ?was? a way to just list them ALL at once?

clrmame Discussion / not removing files from RAR
« on: 22 May 2009, 02:16 »
I have noticed that recently removing rebuilt files from RARs hasn't been working for me.

I download 10+ "ROMs" a day that are in RAR format with two files in each. One file is the needed rom and the other is an .NFO.

I have to unRAR them to get the desired results...

clrmame Discussion / Move all sets remembering last paths?
« on: 20 April 2009, 06:34 »
Could you please change the move (and I would guess all the other options) unfixed, etc. so that they remember the last few paths chosen? Or at least the last chosen directory?

clrmame Discussion / Checksum analysis ignoring fix options
« on: 20 April 2009, 06:32 »
I have a updated dat file with a few 17 7z sets totalling 667 MB. The scan was taking forever (all fix options enabled with advanced, etc. enabled). I just wanted a fast scan so I disabled ALL fix options (hit the + sign twice). Clrmame still displayed that it was doing checksum analysis (with a long delay). I would have thought that disabling all fix options would override any advanced options?
