Ciao people!

I just upgraded mame and performed a "new scan" with all fixes ON. However, I'm getting these few errors at the beginning of scanner.log:

Set exists in various rompaths: L:\g\mame\r\std\pcnfrk5m; L:\g\mame\r\b\sys573\pcnfrk5m; L:\g\mame\r\b\sys573\pcnfrk5m.7z

Set exists in various rompaths: L:\g\mame\r\std\pcnfrk4m; L:\g\mame\r\b\sys573\pcnfrk4m; L:\g\mame\r\b\sys573\pcnfrk4m.7z

Set exists in various rompaths: L:\g\mame\r\std\pcnfrk3m; L:\g\mame\r\b\sys573\pcnfrk3m; L:\g\mame\r\b\sys573\pcnfrk3m.7z

Set exists in various rompaths: L:\g\mame\r\std\pcnfrk2m; L:\g\mame\r\b\sys573\pcnfrk2m; L:\g\mame\r\b\sys573\pcnfrk2m.7z

Now, if I understand correctly, this means the 3rd string (the .7z file) is present in both folders (string 1 and 2). However, that's not my case, so I clearly don't understand this error... hence the request for help.

zipfile: L:\g\mame\r\b\sys573\pcnfrk5m.7z

On 1st dir, not present:

L:\g\mame\r>dir/w/s std\pcn*
 Volume in drive L is LLAGOS WDE4T
 Volume Serial Number is 38F4-7659
File Not Found

L:\g\mame\r>

On 2nd dir, yes it is:

L:\g\mame\r>dir/w/s b\sys573\pcnfrk5m*
 Volume in drive L is LLAGOS WDE4T
 Volume Serial Number is 38F4-7659

 Directory of L:\g\mame\r\b\sys573

So, what is the scanner complaining about?

Thanks a lot for your hints,

Salu2,

clrmame Discussion / Out of Memory error when doing full scan
« on: 07 November 2019, 01:37 »
Hola Roman,

I've just updated mame to .215, added a few new SL dirs, and tried a full scan... However, I've got an Out Of Memory error...!

Also tried viewing the log file, but when I press the "S" to save the file, I again got the OOM error...

Anyway to get a dump or more info to send you?

Thanks!

clrmame Discussion / about scanner moving CHD...
« on: 26 October 2019, 19:32 »
Hi Roman,

I remember sometime ago You mentioned the Rebuilder doesn't move valid CHD (only list them), but the Scanner does it... so I tried this:

1. put a lot of CHD from different systems under one empty valid directory (3dobios/orbatak). Scanner... and result was all CHD were moved to backup folder... except orbatak.chd :(
2. put same lot of CHD to one empty valid folder (dc/18wheelr). Scanner moved CHD from clones games of 18wheelr (japan, etc.) to their own directories, but all the rest (non-18wheel related), even valid, were again moved to backup folder...

It seems this option only works for the game/clones of the directory the CHD are in, and it could not be used as a generic "move/sort/rebuild" CHD for all system...

I was testing this because I accidentally moved around 1200 CHD to a different location :(

Guess I'll have to do all this CHD rebuilding by hand...?? :(

Regards,

Hola Roman,

Just doing a new full scan... all options marked for what, check, and fix. All in.

I've noticed that cmp sometimes fix an "unneeded" rom, to just add it immediately after by fixing "missing"...

Is this correct?

Attached an example.

Salu2,

Hi,
Quick question. I just did a full Scanner, with all Check&Fix ON.. later in the logfile I can see several messages such as this:

Astro Chase [softwarelist: a800 - folder: achase - size: 16kb]
wrong SysDefPath: achase [wrong: D:\games\mame\roms\standard\] [right: D:\games\mame\roms\a800\]

I do have 2 zips but are different in their content, although it seems only the filename is different:

$ ls -l a800/achase.zip
-rwxrwx---+ 1 llagos None 10087 Jun 15 11:10 a800/achase.zip
$ ls -l standard/achase*
-r-xr-x---+ 1 llagos None 10090 Mar  8  2017 standard/achase.zip
$ unzip -l a800/achase.zip
Archive:  a800/achase.zip
  Length      Date    Time    Name
---------  ---------- -----   ----
    16384  12-24-1996 23:32   astro chase (first star software)(1982).rom
---------                     -------
    16384                     1 file
$ unzip -l standard/achase.zip
Archive:  standard/achase.zip
TORRENTZIPPED-A4823C79
  Length      Date    Time    Name
---------  ---------- -----   ----
    16384  12-24-1996 23:32   ac.rom
---------                     -------
    16384                     1 file

The byte difference, I guess it's because of the zip comment...

so I guess both are correct in their own location, and the warning is wrong? If not, why didn't clrmame fix that? (move, delete, rename, etc.).???

Thanks!

clrmame Discussion / clrmame option to "clear" clones
« on: 11 October 2019, 00:36 »
Hola Roman,

Is it possible to have clrmame to remove clones? I'm thinking of just removing all clones from my roms folders, as I'm ok with just the originals... Is there any option to do so? If not, maybe you could add it to your "think about" list? ;)

thanks again!

Hi,
cmpro 4.035, I've got a few new files... I got into Rebuilder, and it says "Created files: 2".
I run Rebuilder again... and again says "Created Files: 2"...
and I run Rebuilder yet again... and again it says "Created Files: 2"...

Strange.. I enable and check log file, looking for the "->" string, which is the one I understand indicates that Rebuilder created a file, and I see those 2 files, all the time:

D:\tmp\e74-05++.ic15
  -> pwrshovl.zip\e74-05++.ic15
  [EXISTS: pwrshovl\e74-05++.ic15]

D:\tmp\e74-07.ic6
  -> pwrshovl.zip\e74-07.ic6
  [EXISTS: pwrshovla\e74-07.ic6]
  [EXISTS: pwrshovla\e74-07.ic6]
  [EXISTS: pwrshovl\e74-08.ic8]

and yes, the .ic6 files appears duplicated (EXISTS line is repeated).

So, is there anything wrong with my files? or cmpro?

I expected it would create the files, once, and if I run Rebuilder again, it will say "zero files created"...

Thanks a lot,

Regards,

Hi, I'm setting up software lists. I have 514 directories under "roms" folder, one per system. In the Scanner window, I used "auto-assign" hoping clrmame would recongnize all my 500+ folders, but no... too bad... I hope this will be fixed someday soon.
Anyway, I went manually to add the first one, but the dialog box only shows 1 folder, ignoring the other 500+ plus.
Attached an image.
Can you please let me know what's wrong? Am I doing something wrong?
I did expect the auto-assign function would recognize all folder automagically. Too bad it didn't.
Thanks a lot,

Hi,
I've noticed sometimes cmp Rebuilder just does nothing, even when sourced with valid roms/bios files.
Today I put bios and roms files under a "temp" I use, started cmp, Rebuild, and nothing. Dialog with statistics came with "0 source files". I enabled logfile, tried again, but logfile is not even created!
Please help! This is not the first time I see this behavior.
Thanks!

Hi.

I've just installed this app, added Mame and defined 2 directories (roms-path y samples-path), all fine so far...

Then I go to Scanner...

I click Scan, and it complained about systems path... I don't use. I just have all my roms under one big fat folder.

Anyway, I click on 'None', and scanned again... I can see the Scanner is checking my files, but in the end, it shows ZERO for everything.

I then tried selecting ALL and AUTO-DETECT, but a new error appear saying I can't have shared directories...

So I can't use system-paths, but if I tell cmp to NOT use system paths, it will see my roms, but detect none...

Is this correct?

Thanks,

Leo

Hola...

I'm running latest clrmamepro. Just did a "New Scan" looking missing SETs only. I've got a lot which are incorrect. I do have the roms, I can load them in mame32ui, for instance, but for some reason clrmamepro reports them as MISSING.

I'm using systems paths, and I have ALL paths correctly defined.

What could be wrong?

For instance, clrmamepro tells me SoulClb2 is missing. I've checked the syspath for sys246 and it's ok, but still...

Thanks a lot,

Leo

clrmame Discussion / how to add CHD using clrmamepro?
« on: 26 January 2010, 04:13 »
Hi... I tried to rebuild some games, which are missing CHDs. I put some CHD on a temp folder, and used clrmamepro REBUILD function to add them, but it didn't... I guessed that if clrmamepro can show missing CHD, it should also add/rebuild/fix them... Right?

So I ask... how to???

Thanks a lot,

Leo
