clrmame Discussion / Old samples dat needed

Hi Roman,
a particular request, which goes a bit beyond the usual use of ClrMAME:
I need, starting from the MAME xml, to recreate the dat of the samples only. Can you suggest me how I could do it with your tool?
I was thinking of performing a scan on empty folders and then, after selecting only the samples, saving a "fix-dat"; the problem is that all the machines that use it would also be included and instead I would only need those that have a zip package (or 7z).
How could I do it?
Same thing (but less urgent) regarding the BIOS only.

Hi Roman,
I rebuilt the samples packages added in the latest version of MAME but they fail to pass the check with ClrMAME (nor the MAMEUI audit).

The message is "Unneeded files", but the names are the correct ones... can you clarify this problem for me, if you can?
Let me know and if you contact me I will send you the file in question.

Hello everybody.

I have always used CLRMamePro loading one DAT file at a time (only arcade and extras ROMs). Now, for the software list I am trying to scan the contents of the XML files of the Hash folder in BatchMode, but I have some difficulty. I noticed that I cannot set the root of the folder containing the ROMs as the path, but I have to give it the path of the folder corresponding to the profile, in doing so I am forced to set it manually for each profile!  Something BIG escapes me, is it possible that whoever has the entire software list has set 680 paths by hand? I don't believe it...

Help me Roman, please.

Hello Roman,
Recently I saw the folder structure of all of the MAME resources (you can see it here: http://www.mameworld.info/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=&Number=351573&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=&fpart=1&vc=1&new=); creating the dat of the individual categories with dir2dat function, I had no problems. Instead, creating the dat which includes all resources, pointing to the folder that contains them all, you got a dat file mixed up and many other errors.

Am I doing something wrong?

I have a small question / request regarding Dir2Dat: You can not change some fields of XML, such as the "<game name =" in "<machine name =" or "<rom name =" on "<snap name="?

Logo: 40 new (tot. 590 png)
Scores: 90 new & 31 upd (tot. 5,000 png)
Select: 65 new & 14 upd (tot. 2,910 png)
Snap: 98 new & 159 upd (tot. 8,831 png)
Titles: 98 new & 114 upd (tot. 8,831 png)
Versus: 4 del, 154 new & 4 upd (tot. 825 upd)

Whatsnew:
- Reached the 5,000 images for "Scores" and 1,000 for "How To"!
- The category "Versus", left a bit 'by the last round has been completely overhauled (with some pictures deleted because it met the requirements to belong to this collection).
- Thorough review of category "Bosses" were added to 120 pictures and 10 more have been updated.
- Many images "InGame" updated, suggested by Smitdogg and SWOS.
- Review all images of games that use the driver "aristmk4.c": 15 games in total.
- Once the work on the games "parent" for the category "Scores". Is now complete.
- Review all images of games that use the driver "vsnes.c": 51 games in total (the colors were recently revised).

  Thanks to Guy Peters, it is finally available, the first version of the program that MAMErenSET v1.0, using the version ini of renameSET.dat, can automatically rename (from any version) to your images (as well as PDF, AVI, ICO etc.) In this first issue will not be possible, but we are already working, all the folders to store and process the job done in one pass.
At the same time leaving the 0.138 version of MAME will born the version 1.0a to remedy this limitation.
