Title: Error using dir2dat
Post by: AntoPISA on 22 March 2016, 13:49
Hello Roman,
Recently I saw the folder structure of all of the MAME resources (you can see it here: http://www.mameworld.info/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=&Number=351573&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=&fpart=1&vc=1&new= (http://www.mameworld.info/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=&Number=351573&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=&fpart=1&vc=1&new=)); creating the dat of the individual categories with dir2dat function, I had no problems. Instead, creating the dat which includes all resources, pointing to the folder that contains them all, you got a dat file mixed up and many other errors.

Am I doing something wrong?  :-[

Sorry I'm late, yesterday was a hectic day for me.
I think I have already answered...
My main problem is that I create dats using folders with "free" files inside them, but most people use zipped files.
I solved it by nesting further relevant folders.

Thanks anyway :)
