Hi all......I have used clrmamepro for a couple of years now so I know how it works.
I just resently formated my PC and I reinstalled clrmamepro and I created a profile to update my Mame Rom set to the latest version but when I try and Load the profile it says "A database update is required which is normal but after I click "ok" another message comes up saying "Found an incomplete datfile or bad exe-output"
I have never gotten this error before and I used "MameUI32" and selected the correct EXE file......I even reinstalled both Mame and clrmamepro and I still get the same error.
I have tried almost everything except reformatting again and I definitely don't want to do that if I can help it.
These are the versions I am using.
Clrmamepro = 3.136
MameUI32 = 0.140
If anyone can give me some help it would be appreciated

Well, that errormessage appears if the datfile (or exe import) is not valid.
For MAMEUI import it means that the xml file which is produced by running mameui with the parameter "-listxml" created an invalid (most likely incomplete) output.
So the problem is in the mame binary, not in cmpro....you may want to redownload the binary, try a different one or cleanup your installation of MAME (sometimes outdated history.ini/etc files cause a corrupt output).
You can test it by running mameui from the commandline like "mameui.exe -listxml >d:\output.txt" (or whatever the mame exe is named...or whereever you want to put the output.txt file to....) then you can open the created file, scroll to the end and check if it looks valid...
I try to add something to cmpro to show not only the last imported set but maybe also the last lines...so you can see where the problem is.

Hi Roman......I did what you suggested and the MameUI.exe seems valid. I also tried cleaning the install of Mame and it didnt fix the problem.
I testing both clrmamepro and MameUI on my wifes laptop and it loaded the profile without problems which makes me think its a PC issue.
She is using Windows 7 on her laptop and I am using Vista on my desktop.
Since my Mame Roms are being held on an external drive I can update the set on her computer but I am puzzled why it wont work on my PC.

Be sure you got enough free diskspace on the drive where cmpro got its folder (esp. its temporary folder).
...also when using Win7 or Vista you may have to fiddle around UAC. If you got cmpro installed in an UAC controlled folder (like c:\program files) you may need to run it as administrator...
....or maybe the mame binary is at a place with other user access rights...
