Title: Problem with latest DATs from redump.org
Post by: Macarro on 22 September 2010, 19:21
My first post here, so hi to everybody!!!

I'm experiencing problems with the last XML DATs from redump.org. ClrMamePro doesn't recognise them, I've compared a working DAT and a non working one and I can't fin any substancial diference. Here you have both in case you want to take a look: http://www.4shared.com/file/Hx7cMj9t/Old_and_new_PSX_DATs_.html

By the way, DatUtil neither works with new DATs.

Regards and thanks in advance.

It's the byte order mark at the beginning of the file 0xefbbbf at offset 0 (you won't see it with a texteditor).
Either you remove it for the moment...or wait for the next cmpro to handle it correctly again (yeah...looks like I accidently removed the support some time ago)....

Thanks, Roman.

Meanwhile I've found a workaround opening the DAT with a text editor and copying-pasting its content to a new text file.

Regards.

Roman, finally people at redump.org think it's a bug with their PHP: http://forum.redump.org/topic/7475/problem-with-latest-xml-dats/

So it seems you don't need to update ClrMamePro.

Regards.

It's no bug. It's the UTF BOM which is pretty common...
I update my code (actually it's a 2 character fix in the source ;))
