I am trying to scan my daphne mpegs and keep getting "Error while reading: ...." on all the files. I have re-downloaded the files from another source, and still get these errors. I run clrmame pro on ubuntu using wine, the mpegs are on a 1 tb hard disk. I don't get these errors on other dat's, but daphne is stored different (not in zip files). What would causes these errors messages? I doubt its from corrupt mpeg's since the sources are different (what I had downloaded years ago, and what I downloaded today). Also Ubuntu has read/write access to the files and folders.

A little bit more details are needed.
For example...
which dat are you using...what are the exact error messages in which files....how to do store your sets...
Since you're running it on Ubuntu, maybe you have to setup access rights correctly.
Send me the used datfile, the belonging *.cmp file (in cmpro's settings folder) for the used profile and cmpro.ini.
And maybe make some screenshots showing your folder with the files and the error message...

The rights are setup correctly for the files, so that isn't an issue. I've checked several times.
I use Yoshi's Daphne MPEG dat.
I've included the .dat .cmp and screenshot

Here are the .cmp and .dat files.

should be fixed for next release
