Title: ? about batch scanning
Post by: i_robot73 on 03 April 2009, 04:08
Been using the program for ages, but sure not all the features; so firstly, thanks for a great program.

I'm working on reducing the footprint of my ROMs, so I'm switching to 7Z compression.

In order to do so 'automatically' (as well as re-verify all is OK), I'm using the batch mode using the latest DATs pulled from Rom Shepherd's website, rebuild then scanning.

Unfort. the compressor used seems to be ZIP and I can't seem to find a way to make it use 7Z instead.  Any hints? ???

Batch jobs use the settings from each profile. There are only some settings which you can 'overwrite' in the batch window. If your single profile's rebuilder options use 7z as pack option, it should work.

Of course this is a nice idea for an enhancement....

I've done one set w/ 7Z compression to get a profile (.\Settings\<something>.CMP??) I don't see any setting related to compressor used in the 'REBUILDER' section of the file  ???

I knew what to change; I could update that for all the 'old' sets I've done in the past & rebuild using the batch mode & re-compress everything   ;D

Though, I'll take the enhanced version to do it for me  ::)  (Coming out next week, right?  ;) )

Rebuilder_PackerType = 1

0 = zip
1 = 7z
2 = rar
