I told my clrmamepro to look at all files deeply in I:\MAME in my very old, updated Windows XP Pro SP3 machine's HDD (NTFS partitions). I had a couple sub(directorie/folder)s in there. When I saved and let clrmamepro rescan, it didn't see them. I had to tell it each exact location to find them. :(
Thank you in advance. :)

Some general stuff:
Clrmamepro follows the official way how to store sets.
rompath\setname\file1...fileN for decompressed sets
rompath\setname.zip(.rar/.7z) where the archive holds file1...fileN for compressed sets
A subfolder in a rompath is a decompressed set.
Also cmpro supports subfolders within sets (so you can have subfolder definitions inside your used dat)
So setting up rompaths is of course a folder-by-folder setup and not a "single root folder" setup. You can have as much rompaths as you want, but you have to set them up in settings->rompaths

Decompressed sets? You mean, no .zip and .7z files? My MAME ROMs are in .zip file formats. My software library's files are in .7z format.

Right, no zip, no rar, no 7z...just plain romfiles in folders. This is an official storing method, not widely used though, but generally supported. Often used in non-MAME environments, e.g. for art files
