Title: How can I fixed missing but fixable roms?
Post by: tanin on 16 January 2011, 00:48
Hi,
I have around 500 mame roms, and I have a few missing roms. Some of them are marked as missing but fixable.
A few years back I tried using clrmamepro and it generated tons of files.
Is it possible to scan and fix the missing but fixable roms of the roms I have and not roms I do not have?

Thanks

As I already replied on the mameworld board:

"Either you keep all sets enabled"
...then fix missing will most likely create files which are shared with sets you don't have and you can hide fully missing sets for a clean overview. If you don't need these single files, you can use the Delete->All incomplete sets option to remove them

"Disable sets/Only enable sets you have"
Then you don't have to care about fix-missing since it will also only work on this subset of sets....but you have to care about which sets you enable. The "available sets" button checks your rompath for this...but this check is not perfect...especially not when it comes to MAME updates where setnames were renamed.

But if I go by the first option, then delete all incomplete sets, would it delete roms I have that have missing sets?

It will move or delete (there are multiple options) all incomplete sets on request (popup menu)....so do it after fixing your set...
