Title: Samba share not writable?
Post by: jflatt on 19 November 2016, 03:17
I just updated the latest version of Samba, and it seems clrmame pro cant rebuild into my public folder.  I tried unzipping and zipping manually, and it worked fine.  I get no errors out of clrmame, just the files aren't updated.  Is there any extended logging information or something I can use to track this down?  clrmame is 4.031b.  Thanks

well, the rebuilder (advanced button) got logging possibilities...but usually it should popup a warning if writing fails....

There is a known rare very old Samba issues where you need several rebuilder runs and it only picks up some files each time. It has been reported like 10 years ago and the user solved it by updating his network drivers...as I said...weird and old....

If it worked before and now it doesn't work anymore, I'd a) check the Samba configuration or b) blame Samba ;-)
