Now there are wrong named sets. Bug?

The romset is good and complete: a previous normal "New Scan" reported no errors / warnings at all in the "Scan Results" window.

See attached output screenshot.

42
Because it never marks disabled sets as unneeded unless you turn on the belonging option for it in Scanner Advanced.
  :o Unneeded is marked in both check and also fix:o

43
  8)  GREAT!!  8)

Only one thing Roman: setting %L=0 and the doing a Scan, won't mark the disabled sets as unneeded!  :o

44
 ;D  8)

Can't wait for the release of this feature!!  ;)

45
There won't be a prompt during import to separate this
No problem!  ;)

you will be able to access the xml element via a variable in the set information set selection option if you really want to disable such "machines not games" sets. I will think about it.
That's exactly what I was thinking about Roman!  ;)  Pretty neat!
If you'll include that filter will be great!!!  8) :) :)

46
???
If you import MAME data from a mame binary you got the chance to include software list or not, i.e. you go with "normal" mame sets only.
In the "normal" way, when you create DAT from mame64.exe, then the Profiler tells you if you want to import also SoftwareList.
I choose to NOT import SoftwareList.

When I go for scanning and/or rebuilding my romset, clrmamepro will also search and rebuild consoles (for example) and other devices which are not games!!
I know, some devices / BIOSes are needed to run games, fine.

But there are also devices sets that aren't needed for games!  ;)
These are the ones which have "<softwarelist/>" declared!  ;)

See here: http://www.progettoemma.net/gioco.php?game=dcjp
This was actually a MESS set!! And now it's included in M.A.M.E. games, NOT SoftwareList (exMESS)...

And within cmpro you got the option to enable/disable whatever set you want in the set-information dialog.
?? Can I filter sets by <softwarelist/> attribute?

47
Hey Roman!
What do you thin about adding a feature to exclude also real machines at start, when importing Profiles?

I mean, take at look at recent XML lists in M.A.M.E.
OK we all know there are two kind of XML you can export from M.A.M.E.:
Code: [Select]
mame -listsoftwareor
Code: [Select]
mame -listxml
Now, let's have a look inside the XML from mame -listxml, for example: Dreamcast (Japan, NTSC).
Code: [Select]
<machine name="dcjp" sourcefile="dccons.cpp">
<description>Dreamcast (Japan, NTSC)</description>
<year>1998</year>
<manufacturer>Sega</manufacturer>
<biosset name="101d" description="v1.01d (World)"/>
<biosset name="1022" description="v1.022 (World)"/>
<biosset name="101c" description="v1.01c (World)"/>
<biosset name="101dch" description="v1.01d (Chinese hack)"/>
<biosset name="1004" description="v1.004 (Japan)"/>
<rom name="mpr-21931.ic501" bios="101d" size="2097152" crc="89f2b1a1" sha1="8951d1bb219ab2ff8583033d2119c899cc81f18c" region="maincpu" offset="0"/>

# [...] truncating irrelevant output [...]

<slot name="ata:0">
<slotoption name="gdrom" devname="gdrom" default="yes"/>
</slot>
<slot name="ata:1">
</slot>
<softwarelist tag="cd_list" name="dc" status="original"/>
</machine>

What about excluding all machines which have the <softwarelist /> node Element??

48
-> 4.037a ;-)

YAY!!!  8)

Thanks!

clrmame Discussion / Re: Help the noob here pls!!!
« on: 06 June 2020, 17:14 »
i tried make the .ini, but didnt work. when i close the settings window the program stop responding and closes itself. Cold you provide a place for me download a older version, maybe works for me
You've got some sort of antivirus of Windows Defender that blocks it?
Also, as Roman suggested, you can try downloading the ZIP package, extract it for example into desktop and try starting (try both 32bit version and also 64bit). Are your downloads corrupted maybe??

@ Roman: will you add to the "Download" section some digests to check / control integrity for both ZIP packages and also EXE files (MD5 or SHA1)?

50
Hey Roman!
Would you consider adding the copy option (instead of Move All To Folder) inside the Warnings window when Scanner founds valid CHDs (drag'n'drop)?
I'm working from a readonly backup filesystem as source, so I cannot move (or cut / paste) files!   ;)

Thanks, bye!

"logical not" inverts the selection but on each single subselection (you can have multiple selections in select sets like A;B it becomes not(A) and not(B))

So...it's not all about excluding or including, it's both.
The incl.* fields are used to mark parents/clones/devices/bios/etc from the selected sets.
So if you select sets selects 3 sets, a mark parents then marks the parent sets of the chosen 3 (which might already be parent sets though)...

But anyway...your 2nd scan includes more sets....so you can of course have more issues reported ;-)
I think I misunderstood you words...  ;D
So the "logical NOT" checkbox affects only "Select Sets" field. Am I right now?  ???

53
With your changed selection, you've included way more sets.
So...

"logical NOT" checkbox only affects the above "Select Sets" string.

And Logical NOT does not affect the "Incl." checkboxes.

54
Done some tests. Roman, please have a look at them.

"incl. clones, incl. parent, etc" checkboxes simply affect your selection by automatically enabling the parent, all clones etc. So if you e.g. select a clone and have "incl. parent" enabled, it also enables the parent.
Glad to learn that.  :)

"logical not" inverts the selection but on each single subselection (you can have multiple selections in select sets like A;B it becomes not(A) and not(B))
Good: now it's clear for me that "Logical NOT" applies to all the options. As you said: "on each single subselection" now I understood.

if "initial invert" is ticked your selection gets inverted each time the profile is loaded (so you don't need to use the invert button each time)
That was the trickiest concept: "your selection gets inverted" and "you don't need to use the invert button each time". Now it's crystal clear!!!  ;) 8)

Thank you Roman, you're so kind and patient!!!  ;)

56
Ahem... But... "Incl." does't means include? It's somewhat misleading for me  :P ;D ;D ;D So, if I check "Incl." I'm telling cmamep to exclude sets? Do I understand correctly?  :)

57

What about "Incl." checkboxes? Why aren't them checked by default? ... :o

58
Scanner->Scan Results Tree Window -> Set Information -> Select Sets: %D=preliminary, hit apply, hit invert, check 'initial invert'.
I've get same results without "Invert", but using "Logical NOT". Can you confirm?
Also: deselecting "%D=preliminary" it disables also all [MECHANICAL]. Can you confirm?

59
If there's a datfile out there which lists chds as roms (so with the file hash and not the compressed data hash information) then you'd be able to rebuild them.

The rebuilder rebuilds roms, not chds.
Yup! I know... I red in this forum... I know you should work with Scanner.
But I'd like to work with CHDs like as I do with roms (that's why I'm asking about dedicated DAT).
Scanner somethimes doesn't want to create folders, so I need to do that by hand.
Also Scanner moves the CHDs... In my particular environment I need *.chd to be copied.

I was hoping to "fake" cmamep to work with CHDs as like ROMs: I mean Rebuilder works with files and Scanner works with SETs. So... I'd like to work with files!  8) ;) ;)
