Can't run 7z, check compressor settings
« on: 02 September 2014, 03:17 »

Hi guys

Having a real hard time here.  Running windows 7 64but trying to scan and rebuild my snes rom set.

Keep getting : can't run 7z, please check compressor settings.  I've read about dropping the 7z.exe file inside the clrmame folder??

If that's correct, where is the 7z file.  I'm looking in the folder where it is and there's all types... 7z.dll , 7zfm 7zg etc.

What is the answer to the problem??

Pulling my hair out!  Sorry for the stupid question, I'm a mac guy and hate windows platform.

Thanks again!!

Putting an external tool into cmpro's folder is just plain nonsense...

Install 7zip as you would do it normally (either Windows installer or manual decompress) into your fav position on your harddrive.

To use 7z in cmpro you can either:
- add your 7z installation path to your system's environment %PATH% variable
- or go to settings->compressor->7z and set the absolute path to the 7z binary there.

I prefer the %PATH% method.
